The Orvis endorsed Blue Damsel lodge is the finest fly fishing lodge in Western Montana. Located on legendary waters of Rock Creek surrounded by the Lolo National Forest of western Montana, you will stay and dine in rustic luxury while fly fishing the unmatched diversity of the four different trout streams of “A River Runs Through It” country.

The lodge is located 40 miles from Missoula and allows for wide range of fly fishing options and flexibility. The primary fisheries accessed from the Blue Damsel include Rock Creek, the Clarks Fork, the Bitterroot and the Blackfoot.

The key to a great lodge experience is the people, both staff & guests. The lodge typically maxes out at only 10 guests (exclusive groups up to 14) which allows for outstanding service and attention to detail. Keith Radibaugh his team are all truly glad to have you as their guests. The dining experience at the lodge is outstanding. After dinner, if you aren’t ready for bed, the staff will build a fire in one of the outdoor fire pits and you can sit up for a while. If you are curious about the array of acoustic instruments in the den, they are broken out on request around that campfire.

Accommodations
The Blue Damsel Lodge has been described by guests as a “Mansion in the Wilderness.” Built of massive Montana lodgepole pine over 3 years by a craftsman & his artist wife, the lodge contains many treasures in the form of craftsmanship & art work that have been hand painted & hand carved into the structure itself. Banisters, tile work, murals & fire places all reflect the magnificent work.

Your “mansion in the wilderness”, is a three story log lodge structure and one separate cabin, The Lewis & Clark cabin. The first & third levels of the lodge contain the 6 bedrooms, and sitting rooms. TV is available in the Pro Shop downstairs and wireless internet access is accessible from common areas of the lodge. The second (main) level of the lodge has the gourmet kitchen, bar, dining room & sitting area with wood burning fire place.

Outside the lodge, guests enjoy the use of large decks, mudroom, Orvis Pro Shop, horseshoe pit, fire pits, casting pond, hiking trails, outdoor wood grill, and every now and then the outdoor, wood fueled hot tub.

With 7 bedrooms, the lodge can physically accommodate 14 guests but they limit occupancy to 10 guests. In that configuration, space and privacy are optimized and you will have a private bathroom. With a small party, you are assured of this optimum occupancy. With a group size of 10 guests, you have the lodge exclusively. If your group is larger than 10, depending on the make up of that group, the lodge can accommodate a total of either 12 or 14 and we will be happy to discuss the layout necessary to accommodate your larger group. Three bedrooms have fireplaces and 4 have Jacuzzi tubs.

Dining
Meal times vary according to the planned fishing schedule. Typically, the staff plans breakfast for 45 minutes before scheduled fishing departure. Appetizers and an open bar will greet you upon your return from fishing, while dinner is being prepared. Gourmet dinners are served at the table by the courteous staff from a revolving menu. Your guide will have a few spots planned for your shore lunch-depending on when you are ready for lunch. If we are fishing very early (often in late summer), many guests prefer our “breakfasts-to-go”. The lodge staff will wake you with juice and coffee and a nice breakfast sandwich, fruit, granola bars, etc are ready for you to take with you.

There is no charge to serve yourself from our private bar. The lodge provides a variety of (very good) local beers, wine (also served with dinner), and a good compliment of liquors and mixers. If your brand is not stocked in our bar, let us know and the lodge staff can probably get it.
