Current Conditions:
The smaller private ranch lakes that we target like Burns and Sitz are outstanding right now. The bugs aren't hatching in great abundance yet but trout are cruising and hungry and catch rates have been high and weed growth is minimal. The larger lakes like Hebgen and Ennis can also be productive when the wind isn't blowing too hard.

The Month Ahead:
Lakes always fish very well in June and are a good choice when some rivers are up from melting snow. There is an early brood of callibaetis that can often bring some trout to the surface.

Long Term Fishing Forecast:
Lakes are always an interesting option in the summer. Sometimes we forget about the stillwaters in mid summer when the rivers are all fishing so well but they offer a nice change up and the shot at sight casting to trophy trout can be addictive!
off most of the lower elevation lakes and fishing has been good slow stripping leaches and damsel fly nymphs.
