The Bella Vista Lodge is located on a massive
650,000 acre estancia near the southern most
tip of the mainland. Tierra del Fuego and the
famous Rio Grande is located directly across
the Beagle Channel. The primary fishery at
Bella Vista is the Rio Gallegos which is a
large and varied river system. The Gallegos
receives a run of giant sea run browns similar
to the Rio Grande with fish in the 10-20 lb
range common and fish to 30 lbs possible. A
healthy supply of resident browns in the 2-7
lb. range are also present in the river. The
structure of the Rio Gallegos is more varied
than on the Rio Grande with a diversity of
holding water including slicks, riffles and some
heavier runs. The catch rate on the sea runs is
a bit lower than on the Rio Grande but the
average size trout is 9 lbs and many anglers
enjoy the diversity and large amount of water
available. The lodge accommodates 8 rods per
week and has private access to over 30 miles
of the Rio Gallegos and 12 miles of the Rio
Chico spring creek.
The Rio Chico is a braided spring creek that
offers outstanding dry fly fishing to very lightly
pressured resident browns. This is the only
location on earth that provides an opportunity
to catch spring creek browns on foam
attractors in the morning and catch giant sea
run browns in the evening!
Dining
Argenina's famed lamb and beef is raised on the ranch ensure quality ingredients on which the Chef bases an array of
delicious, traditional Argentine specialties. Wines are carefully selected from the extensive wine cellar to accompany each
meal. A traditional Asados barbeque of lamb will be prepared on one of the evenings.
