Alerces National Park. The park borders
similar protected areas across the Chilean
border and is home to spectacular glacieted
mountains, lush forests and crystalline lakes
and rivers. The fishing in and around Los
Alerces is on the vast network of lake and river
systems. Large trout move in and out of the

Fishing Program
You could be in Montana, Wyoming, Redwood country or enjoying a remote Adirondack pond. But you're not. Patagonia is
remeniscent of the America West 75 or 100 years ago! There are only a few small towns in this region and most of the locals
are not fisherman so the rivers are very lightly pressured. CVL is located on the edge of the spectacular Los Alerces National
Park and their guides are permitted to fish the legendary waters within. Rivers such as the Rio Rividavia are considered to be
some of the most beautiful in the world. Many of the rivers in this region drain large glacial lakes that filter out all sediments
producing some of the clearest trout rivers on earth. Floating over a 15 foot deep pool and seeing huge trout at the bottom can
get you excited in a hurry. A typically week at the lodge might include a day on the Rividavia, a day on the Carrileufu, a three
day deluxe camping trip on the the Rio Chubut followed by a trip on one of the lakes or nearby spring creeks.
Location
Most travellers will arrive in Buenos Aires from their international trip and spend the first night in this wonderful city often
described as the Paris of South America. From Buenos Aires, you have two options. One is a 2-hour flight to Bariloche. From
Bariloche, Cholila is 2 1/2 to 3 hours driving. It's a beautiful drive to start getting the atmosphere of Patagonia.
A second way is to fly from Buenos Aires to Esquel via Aerolineas Argentina, a 2 hrs and 10 minutes flight. The driving
distance from there to the lodge is much shorter, about 1 hr and 30 minutes, through the Alerces National Park. There is one
big difference between these flights: to Bariloche there are 8 to 10 flights every day on 2 different airlines, and to Esquel you
only have 4 flights a week on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays on Aerolineas Argentinas.
In both cases, someone will be waiting to take you to the Carrileufu Valley Lodge.
