Provisional Cancellation Policies during the Covid-19 Pandemic (only for trips scheduled through Oct 31, 2020)

Provisional COVID-19 cancellation policy for Montana Angler owned or 100% Managed Programs including MA exclusive lodges (Madison River Lodge, Boulder River Outpost, Sweet Grass Basecamp), Standard River Camping Trips (excluding Bob Marshal), Ultimate Road Trip, Smith River Expeditions, Day Trips or Hotel Packages.

Any cancellations over 90 days out are still subject to our standard policy, which is a full refund less a cancel fee equal to 7.5% of the reservation total. For any cancellations within 90 days of the trip we are offering a provisional cancellation policy to provide more flexibility to guests while the outbreak persists, which is a 100% credit of payment towards any trips booked later in 2020, 2021 or 2022. If you rebook the identical itinerary, there will be no price adjustments even if that package experiences future rate increases. Guests may also choose to apply the credit toward any program Montana Angler offers (both in Montana or with our destination partners) during the same time period and we will apply the full value of your credit to the new program. You can use your credit to transfer to another individual as a gift to a future trip. As an alternative you may use the dollar value of your credit towards fly shop purchases (we are happy to ship product or a gift card). Please email any cancellation requests to [email protected].

Provisional COVID-19 cancellation policy for Montana Angler Partner Programs and Lodging (applies for 2020 bookings within Montana)

Many of our packages involve a blend of guide services provided by Montana Angler and a stay at a partner lodge or vacation rental. We also partner with Montana based horse pack outfitters. Finally, we provide booking services for many international destination lodges. With these packages we default to the lodge partner’s cancellation policy. Any cancellations over 90 days out are still subject to our standard policy, which is a full refund less a 7.5% processing fee. For any cancellations within 90 days of the trip we are offering a provisional cancellation policy to provide more flexibility to guests while the outbreak persists. Each of our partner lodges in Montana, or our international partners abroad have unique cancellation policies. If your package involves a partner lodge we default to their cancellation policy for the lodging component. Many of our partners are also adjusting their standard policies and we are tracking any changes. If your trip is within 90 days we will commit to offering a full credit towards the guided fishing portion of your trip (if operated by Montana Angler guides) and then work with our lodging partner to determine if a credit will also be offered on the lodging component of the trip.

All trip credits with Montana Angler operated components of your trip be used for future trips in 2020, 2021 or 2022. Guests may also choose to apply the credit toward any program Montana Angler offers (both in Montana or with our destination partners) during the same time period and we will apply the full value of your credit to the new program.  You can also transfer any credit you have to another individual as a gift to a future trip. As an alternative you may use the dollar value of your credit towards fly shop purchases (we are happy to ship product or a gift card). Please email any cancellation requests to [email protected].

Standard Cancellation Policies (For 2020 trips, see COVID-19 cancellation policy above)

Cancellation Policy for Montana Fishing Trips
A 50% deposit is required to secure a reservation within 7 days of booking. The balance of the trip is due 60 days prior to the trip. Please provide a written notice to us if you need to cancel your trip. Cancellation fees will be applied as follows: More than 90 days in advance of arrival = 7.5% of the reservation total; 60-90 days before arrival = 50% of the reservation total; Less than 60 days before arrival = no refunds or credits. Due to the advance nature of our bookings we must make no exceptions to our cancellation policy. Montana weather is often variable, trips are not cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. If you are at all concerned with the cancellation possibility, we encourage you to purchase trip insurance.

Cancellation Policy for Destination Trips:
50% deposit is required to secure a reservation within 7 days of booking. The balance is due 90 days prior to the trip. Deposits and final payments are NON-REFUNDABLE. Montana Angler Fly Fishing is solely a booking agent for destination trips and does not operate the lodging or guide services. Requests to move a scheduled trip date are the same as cancelling and re-booking. Montana Angler Fly Fishing is not responsible for any loss, damage or injury arising while traveling, fishing or practicing any other activity. Because of our reliance on advanced bookings, we must make no exceptions to our cancellation policy. Adverse weather conditions are possible on any trip and in some situations can negatively affect fishing conditions or loss of fishing days. Refunds are not made if fishing days are lost due to adverse weather-related conditions. If unexpected events such as global pandemics, wars, travel restrictions, etc. prevent the trip from occurring, Montana Angler Fly Fishing will work directly with our destination partner to assist in exploring any deviation from the standard policy, but guests should understand that trip funds are forwarded to the lodge in advance of travel and any deviation from the standard policy is at the sole discretion of the destination partner. If you are at all concerned with a cancellation possibility, we strongly encourage you to purchase trip insurance.

Trip Insurance
We strongly recommend that you purchase trip insurance. Unexpected events do arise and travel insurance is very reasonable. Insurance on a $3000 lodge package will cost between $100-$140 depending on age. There are many good travel insurance providers, but we recommend Global Rescue as a good option.
