Standard Cancellation Policies
Payment and Cancellation Policy for Montana Fishing Trips
Payment is required to secure a new reservation within 7 days of booking (50% deposit is requested on advanced bookings OR full payment if your trip begins within 90 of the time of booking). For advance bookings secured with a deposit, the remaining balance due will be due 60 days before arrival. Please provide a written notice to us if you need to cancel your trip. Cancellation fees will be applied as follows: More than 90 days in advance of arrival = 7.5% of the reservation total; 60-90 days before arrival = 50% of the reservation total; Less than 60 days before arrival = no refunds or credits. Due to the advance nature of our bookings we must make no exceptions to our cancellation policy. Montana weather is often variable, trips are not cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.
Payment and Cancellation Policy for Destination Trips:
A 50% deposit is required to secure a reservation within 7 days of booking. The balance is due 90 days prior to the trip. Deposits and final payments are NON-REFUNDABLE. Montana Angler Fly Fishing is solely a booking agent for destination trips and does not operate the lodging or guide services. Requests to move a scheduled trip date are the same as cancelling and re-booking. Montana Angler Fly Fishing is not responsible for any loss, damage or injury arising while traveling, fishing or practicing any other activity. Because of our reliance on advanced bookings, we must make no exceptions to our cancellation policy. Adverse weather conditions are possible on any trip and in some situations can negatively affect fishing conditions or loss of fishing days. Refunds are not made if fishing days are lost due to adverse weather-related conditions. If unexpected events such as global pandemics, wars, travel restrictions, etc. prevent the trip from occurring, Montana Angler Fly Fishing will work directly with our destination partner to assist in exploring any deviation from the standard policy, but guests should understand that trip funds are forwarded to the lodge in advance of travel and any deviation from the standard policy is at the sole discretion of the destination partner. If you are at all concerned with a cancellation possibility, we strongly encourage you to purchase trip insurance.
Effective through June 30, 2021: Provisional COVID-19 cancellation policy for Montana Angler owned or 100% Managed Programs including MA exclusive lodges (Madison River Lodge, Boulder River Outpost, Sweet Grass Basecamp), Standard River Camping Trips (excluding Bob Marshal), Ultimate Road Trip, Smith River Expeditions, Day Trips or Hotel Packages.
For any cancellations for guests that are directly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, we are offering a provisional cancelation policy to provide more flexibility to guests while the outbreak persists, which is a 100% credit of payment towards any trips booked later in 2021 or 2022. Qualifying COVID related criteria include national or state travel restrictions, state quarantine requirements, a positive COVID test, or quarantine requirements due to exposure or close contact. On group trips, credits are only extended to the individuals directly impacted by COVID. Guests that must cancel due to COVID may apply their credit toward any program Montana Angler offers (both in Montana or with our destination partners). Guests may also use credit towards fly shop purchases (we are happy to ship product or a gift card). Please email any cancellation requests to [email protected]
COVID policies on packages with our partnership lodging options or partner outfitters (Effective through June 30,2021).
Many of our packages involve a blend of guide services provided by Montana Angler and a stay at a partner lodge or vacation rental. We also partner with Montana based horse pack outfitters. Finally, we provide booking services for many international destination lodges. If your package involves a partner lodge or service, we default to their cancellation policy for services they operate. Many of our partners are adjusting their standard policies and we are tracking any changes. If your trip is cancelled due COVID related reasons (qualifying COVID related criteria include national or state travel restrictions, state quarantine requirements, a positive COVID test, or quarantine requirements due to exposure or close contact). On group trips, credits are only extended to the individuals directly impacted by COVID, we will commit to offering a full credit towards the guided fishing portion of your trip (if operated by Montana Angler guides) and then work with our lodging partner to determine if a credit will also be offered on the lodging component of the trip. Please email any cancellation requests to [email protected]
We strongly recommend that you purchase trip insurance. Unexpected events do arise and travel insurance is very reasonable. Insurance on a $3000 lodge package will cost between $100-$140 depending on age. There are many good travel insurance providers, but we recommend Global Rescue as a good option.
