Join Ann and Brian McGeehan on a saltwater flats fishing adventure to Kiribiti during the December 8-15 week of 2026. This remote small island is located in the heart of the Pacific Ocean roughly 1300 miles from Hawaii. All fishing is done by wading the expansive hard coral flats. There are excellent populations of bonefish and this can be an incredible first time flats fishing trip for those wanting to experience their first salwater fly fishing experience. Experienced anglers can also try their hand at the legendary giant trevally or the challenging and unique trigger fish. Christmas Island offers incredible value for a no frills adventure. Accommodations are basic but comfortable and include air conditioned rooms for guests. Anglers should expect to walk and wade fish every day. This trip will max out at 10 guests plus our hosts. There is one flight per week to the island that is direct from Honolulu on Air Fiji. We will spend one night in Hawaii en route to Christmas Island.

All airfare to Christmas Island, accommodations/meals/transfers in Honolulu, alcohol and soda, fishing license (purchased in AUD), staff and guide gratuities, departure taxes.

Itinerary (7 nights on Christmas Island with 6 days guided fishing):
December 7 - arrive Honolulul, HI (overnight self booked)
December 8 - fly direct to Christmas Island on Air Fiji (3.5 hour flight - self booked)
December 9 - arrive Christmas Island (NOTE this is the same travel day, but we cross the International dateline so it is the next calendar day on arrival)
December 10-15 - guided fishing
December 16 - depart for Honalulu (cross dateline again and gain a day)
December 15 - arrive Honolulu (note this is the same travel day as departing Christmas, Island but gain a day crossing dateline) - evening flight back to mainland US
December 16 - arrive home
